Welcome to The Classroom Post, a new blog devoted to education in America and its role in the twenty-first century. Almost any topic related to education at any level is fair game for this blog including No Child Left Behind, standardized testing, prayer in school, advanced placement courses, teacher training, classroom discipline, and technology in the classroom. Our discussions will most likely be headline-driven - i.e. focused on the latest news of the day in education. Of course, accounts of personal experiences are always welcome, and I will have more than a few of these to offer in the weeks and months ahead. While this blog is geared towards the practicing classroom teacher, it is not necessarily limited to the "dog-faced soldiers" fighting it out in the educational trenches. Hopefully, parents, administrators, school board members, and others will want to sit around with us and talk about the art and science of teaching, the unique place that is the classroom, and most of all, the students who make it all possible.
Ready? Ok, the bell is about to ring, so let's get started!
